Course Etiquette

  • Golf Etiquette
    • Always play without delay and keep up with the group in front.

Invite faster groups to play through.

Don't move, talk or stand lose to a player making a stroke.

Don't step on another player's line of putt.

Don't play until the group in front is out of the way.

Shout a warning if your ball may hit someone-"fore".

Repair divot holes and ball-markers. Smooth footprints in bunkers.

Don't drop clubs on the putting green or lean on your putter.

Replace the flagstick carefully in an upright position.

In the case of a serious breach of etiquette, the committee has the authority to disqualify a player.

Leave the course in the condition in which you would like to find it.

If your ball may be lost outside a water hazard or out of bounds, you may play a provisional ball before you go forward to look for the original, provided you announce your intention to do so.
  • Pace of Play
    • The Pace of Play suggestions below can help prevent slow play:

Plan your shot while walking to your ball or while others are playing.

Line up your putt when others are putting and be ready to play when it is your turn.

Be ready to play when it is your turn.

      Walk briskly between shots.

Walk directly to your golf ball; don't follow others unless assisting in a search.

If riding, take several clubs with you to your ball so you won't have to walk back to the cart.

Don't step off or measure yardage for every single golf shot, develop and "eye" for distance.

      Be efficient with pre-shot routine.

      Take only one practice swing.

Play a provisional ball if you think the original might be lost outside a water hazard or out of bounds.

Leave your clubs on the side of the putting green towards the next tee.

Exit putting green promptly after holing out.

Tee it forward - Play the tees that suit your ability and make the game enjoyable and fun.
  • Cart Usage
    • Members using a cart shall be solely responsible for any damage to the cart.

Children are not allowed to drive or rent carts until they are 18 years old, and then only if the consent of their parents has been given to the Professional staff.

Electric carts must observe the 90-degree rule at all times unless conditions call for cart paths only.

Each hole has a cart sign near the tee that explains the cart situation in effect for that particular hole.

Electric carts and pull carts must remain on cart paths around tee areas.

Electric carts must return to the cart path once they reach the designated markers near the green. Pull carts must remain at least 10 yards from greens and bunkers.

Electric carts and pull carts are NOT allowed on driving range tee.

Carry bags must not be placed on the greens or the collar of the green.
  • Dress Code
    • It is the members’ responsibility to inform their guests of Tulsa Country Club’s dress code.
