Jeff has been around the game of golf for 43 years. He graduated from Clovis High School (California) where he won the 1979 California State High School Golf Championship at Pebble Beach Golf Links. Jeff was an All-American at Oral Roberts University and a member of The Oral Roberts Sports Hall of Fame. While at ORU, Jeff won the Butler National Intercollegiate Golf Championship in 1982 and 1983.
Jeff has been with Tulsa Country Club since 1990 and has been an active PGA Member for 23 years. Jeff was awarded Player of the Year in 1992 and was recently recognized as the 2014 South Central PGA Eastern Chapter Professional of the Year. He remains an outstanding golfer, having won several South Central Section PGA events and qualifying to play in 6 National Club Professional Championships. In 2001 Jeff began working with the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) after a back injury. This program has fully restored his health and has him playing golf again. Jeff is a true believer in this program, and we are excited to bring it to Tulsa Country Club. Jeff has also been a part of the Titleist Club Fitting Family since its inception in 1994.
Teaching Philosophy: "I have been teaching the game of golf to all levels of players for over 25 years. My teaching philosophy is very simple. I believe in teaching the player to swing the golf club, not hit at the golf ball. Every player swings the club differently because of their physical make up and limitations."
"My teaching philosophy is designed around three basic essentials: A stationary center, balance and rhythm and three basic imperatives: a flat left wrist, impact and plane angle as it pertains to the swing plane. Too many players make the golf swing too mechanical when the golf swing should be a more natural motion. The mind should be thinking about the golf shot at hand, not the swing mechanics. The swing mechanics should be felt in the muscle groups through repetition. It is my belief that players should learn their golf swing and how it works."
